Kristian (Dr. Kris) Poitier, EdD, MHSM, MBA, BSN, RN

Chief Program Officer

Dr. Kris brings over 20 years of leadership experience to BWEL, with a strong background in clinical operations, risk management, and workforce development, providing strategic leadership support to promote coordinated efforts in enhancing new graduate pipelines, increasing retention, and strengthening academic partnerships, clinical excellence, and evidence-based practices.

Dr. Kris has held executive roles across large public and private healthcare systems in Texas and California and currently serves on the division nurse executive team for a Fortune 500 healthcare organization, where she leads academic engagement strategies to strengthen workforce pipelines, retention, and clinical excellence.

Dr. Kris has also served President of the North Texas Society for Healthcare Risk Management, where she championed patient safety and quality initiatives. A certified change agent (Lean Six Sigma/GE) and TeamSTEPPS master trainer, she is known for her ability to lead strategic initiatives that drive system-wide improvements and enhance care delivery.

In addition to her executive roles, Dr. Kris serves as adjunct faculty at Galen College of Nursing and is a Certified Patient Family Partner and faculty for MoMMA’s Voices, a program of the National Preeclampsia Foundation. Her advocacy is deeply personal as a HELLP syndrome survivor and mother with lived experience of perinatal loss.

As Chief Program Officer, Dr. Kris will leverage her extensive leadership, academic, and risk management experience to build a premier learning and leadership development experience for the BWEL community—empowering professionals to lead with confidence, compassion, and impact.
